Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that judicial and administrative investigations have been launched regarding recent attacks by stray animals. Following the incidents in which two children lost their lives in Yüksekova, Hakkâri and Karatay, Konya, and one child was injured in Narman, Erzurum, Tunç emphasized that this situation is "an issue that cannot be postponed."

'MUNICIPALITIES MUST FULFILL THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES'

Minister Tunç stated that under the Animal Protection Law, municipalities and provincial special administrations are responsible for bringing stray animals under control and effectively operating shelters. Expressing that authorities must perform their duties completely, Tunç said that necessary legal and criminal proceedings will be applied against those who are negligent.

In his statement, Tunç included the following remarks:

The safety of our citizens, especially our children, comes before everything else. Our determination to make our streets safe and ensure the safety of our citizens is absolute. Negligence that threatens public order will never be tolerated.
