Minister Tunç's statement on 'Sur Municipality': Investigation launched
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made a statement regarding the insulting remarks made by DEM Party members following the certificate of election ceremony at the Diyarbakır Sur Municipality.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç spoke out following remarks made during the certificate of election ceremony at the Sur Municipality targeting the founder of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Tunç stated the following:
"A judicial investigation has been launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to the insulting remarks made by DEM Party officials in the office of the Diyarbakır Sur Municipality against the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. No negative attempt that targets the unity and solidarity of our country or seeks to disrupt the environment of peace will ever be permitted."
