Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on his X account that the Germici organized crime group has been dismantled as part of the Kafes Operations.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the Germiciler organized crime group has been dismantled as part of the Kafes Operation.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"The Kafes Operation was conducted by the Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Command, under the coordination of the Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command's Department of Combating Cybercrime, targeting the Germiciler organized crime group, which was determined to be operating in Muğla and led by Hakan Germici and his brother Erdem Germici.
It was determined that the organized crime group engaged in qualified fraud by posting advertisements on websites and social media applications for vehicles they did not actually own as if they were the owners, attempting to sell houses they did not own using fake title deeds and identities, and posting fake advertisements for items for sale.
Furthermore, it was determined that this criminal organization engaged in 'arms trafficking' and that the leader of the organization had a criminal record for 31 offenses. During the operation, a number of pistols, fake title deeds, digital materials, and cash were seized.
15 of these individuals, who 'formed an organization for the purpose of committing crimes,' were apprehended and taken into custody. 10 individuals, including the leader of the organization, were arrested. Investigations regarding this criminal organization are ongoing."
