Minister Yerlikaya announces operation: 'Şahinler' organized crime group dismantled

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the details of the "Kafes-27" operations on X.

Yerlikaya stated the following:

"The organized crime group known as 'Şahinler' has been dismantled in the 'Kafes-27' operation carried out in 3 provinces centered in Antalya!

In the operation, 15 suspects, including the group leader İlkay YILMAZ, were detained! The operation is ongoing!

I want our dear nation to know that: We will not give any leeway to those who are arrogant in crime, those who disturb the peace of our people, or organized crime groups.

Under the coordination of the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime; in the 'Kafes-27' operation, which was carried out simultaneously in 3 provinces, namely Antalya, Kocaeli, and Muğla, against the organized crime group known as 'ŞAHİNLER', which 'uses the name of National Organized Crime Group Leader Sedat ŞAHİN';

It was determined that they pressured business owners in Kaş, Antalya, through crimes of Intentional Injury, Property Damage, Threats, and Insults to seize businesses, threatened customers in entertainment venues, established dominance over venues by standing in crowds and showing off, benefited from regional businesses without payment, beat up employees who asked for money, and pressured the public by moving in large groups.

In the searches conducted during the operation, according to initial findings; 3 unlicensed pistols and a large quantity of ammunition were seized."
