Minister Yerlikaya announces 'radar notifications will be provided'

Yerlikaya answered questions from members of the press at the reception held for the start of the 4th Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

Responding to a question regarding planned amendments to the Highway Traffic Law, Yerlikaya said, "The Presidential circular explains when this will be completed and what needs to be done regarding it. Our intention is to complete all preparations before the new 36-article draft law, God willing, becomes law in the veteran Parliament."

Regarding a question on the publication of Electronic Inspection System maps, Yerlikaya replied that "there are new studies on this matter." Stating that they are preparing a new program and that it is currently in the testing phase, Yerlikaya noted the following:

We will implement systems that show our citizens where radar inspections are located, how many there are, and where they are as they enter a route.

There are already warning signs in place. We are not setting traps for our citizens regarding radar inspections.

We already announce in advance that we conduct radar inspections in areas where speed limit violations are most frequent and where fatal and injury-causing accidents occur. Now, we are taking this a step further and will be providing this information via an application. Our goal is to prevent fatal and injury-causing traffic accidents.
