Minister Yerlikaya announces: "Siberağ-4" operation in 26 provinces... 86 people apprehended

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that "Siberağ-4" operations were carried out in 26 provinces as a result of work conducted by Provincial Gendarmerie Commands under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Cybercrime Combat Department.

86 suspects were taken into custody in the operations conducted by the Gendarmerie targeting crimes of "qualified theft and fraud, misuse of bank or credit cards, illegal betting, and online child obscenity." It was determined that the suspects' accounts had a transaction volume of 91 million 400 thousand TL.

As a result of the operations, unlicensed pistols and a large number of computers, fake driver's licenses, and digital materials were seized.

In a post on his social media account, Yerlikaya stated the following:

"Just as in our Blue Homeland, our fight against crime and criminals in our Cyber Homeland will continue with determination 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I congratulate our heroic Gendarmerie who carried out the operations. May God protect them. Our nation's prayers are with you."
