Minister Yerlikaya's first statement on the costs of luxury police vehicles

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made important statements regarding the agenda on CNN Türk. Explaining that he learned of his appointment as minister through a phone call from AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, Yerlikaya said, "At first, I lost my voice."

Minister Yerlikaya also disclosed details for the first time regarding the use of luxury vehicles seized from criminal organizations as police cars and the costs associated with them.

"ARE YOU READY TO GIVE UP YOUR MOTHER, FATHER, SELF, AND LOVED ONES?"

Stating that he learned of his appointment as minister over the phone from AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, Minister Yerlikaya shared the following:

"While I was serving as governor, our President called me. He said that we have been in a relentless struggle against terrorist organizations for 21 years. You will continue this struggle until the last terrorist is neutralized. This work is a great responsibility.

Are you ready to give up your mother, father, self, and loved ones? At first, I lost my voice. I said that as long as the prayers of our noble nation are with us, we will try to fulfill our duty properly, God willing.

If your support remains with our ministry, we will strive to do this job as best as we can."

"I AM SAYING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Regarding the use of criminal organizations' cars by the police, Minister Yerlikaya said, "I am saying this for the first time. Car brands are reaching out to us, saying that it suits the police so well that if anything happens, bring them to us. We place them in symbolic locations.

There are many images; a child asks if they can sit in the police car, they examine the vehicle. 13 of these vehicles belong to the Comanchero. There is one vehicle belonging to a social media influencer.

The others belong to other criminal organizations. This practice has also made a lot of noise globally. It has also been a morale booster for the teams. Our citizens come and take photos, they say 'may no harm come to your feet.' There is only fuel cost, there is no maintenance cost; everyone can rest easy," he said.
