Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı made statements regarding the forest fires continuing in different parts of the country at the Fire Management Center in Ankara.
Highlights from Minister Yumaklı's statements are as follows:
On a day we described as very high-risk, we battled 76 fires, 28 of which were in forested areas and 48 in rural areas.
The Eymir fire in Ankara has been brought under control; the fires in Gazipaşa and Serik in Antalya and Silifke in Mersin have been largely brought under control.
There are 2 separate fires in Bursa. Terrain conditions are difficult for the fire in Karabük.
