AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signaled in statements made on his plane returning from visits to Albania and Serbia that he would make changes both within his party and in the Cabinet.
In his statement, Erdoğan said, "Now, in this new process, just as there may be some changes among the deputy chairmen, we will make our evaluations regarding the cabinet as well. There may be some changes there too."

Journalist Tahir Kum claimed that AKP İzmir MP Alpay Özalan, who has been a central figure in fights in the TBMM, could become a minister.
According to Tahir Kum's claim, Alpay Özalan's name has been brought up among potential ministers who could take a place in the cabinet. Whether Özalan, who is alleged to be considered as a replacement for Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, will be chosen for this position has become a subject of curiosity in political circles.
