The Ministry continues to expose imitation and adulterated food products

The Ministry has launched the website guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr, where brands that engage in food fraud are disclosed to citizens in real-time. ASAL Research asked citizens whether it is appropriate for the ministry to expose brands that engage in 'imitation and adulteration'. 

In its survey conducted with 2,015 people in 26 provinces between November 9-17, 2024, ASAL Research asked the question: "Do you find it appropriate for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to expose companies that engage in imitation and adulteration production?"

89.5 percent of those who answered the question replied, "Yes, I find it appropriate." While 4.1 percent of people replied, "No, I do not find it appropriate," 6.4 percent replied, "I have no opinion/No answer."

In the survey conducted with 2,015 people, 91 percent of AKP voters, 88.2 percent of CHP voters, 92.8 percent of MHP voters, 85.4 percent of DEM Party voters, and 91.3 percent of IYI Party voters stated that they found the disclosures shared by the ministry to be appropriate. 

THE MINISTRY UPDATED THE LIST

Following the scandals that emerged during the inspections carried out by the ministry regarding producers who mixed pork into meatballs, horse and deer meat into sausage, and added heart to raw Adana kebab, the ministry continues to issue warnings regarding new brands.

In the latest list published, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry also added cheese brands to the list.
