The Ministry of Interior announced that an important international operation was carried out as a result of joint efforts between the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Division and the Azerbaijani Police.

Ministry of Interior announces: Wanted fugitive captured in Baku

It was stated that Ö.A.K., who was wanted in connection with a new-generation criminal organization, was captured in Baku and brought to Turkey as part of the operation.

The statement made by the Ministry of Interior is as follows:

"We continue our fight against new-generation criminal organizations with determination.

As a result of joint efforts carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of Security's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Department and the Public Prosecutor's Offices, in cooperation with the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Division and the Azerbaijani Police, an important international operation was conducted.

During the investigations, the trail of an individual named Ö.A.K. was found; he was involved in incidents of shooting at workplaces and attempting extortion by threatening business people, and was in contact with members of the new-generation criminal organization currently imprisoned for these crimes.

The individual named Ö.A.K., who had an arrest warrant issued against him for the crimes of 'Intentional Homicide, Purchasing, Accepting, Possessing and Using Drugs or Stimulants for Personal Use, and Purchasing or Carrying Unlicensed Firearms and Ammunition,' was captured in Baku and brought to our country.

We continue our fight against organized crime groups and urban bandits with determination, both within our borders and beyond.

We congratulate our heroic police officers, our KOM Department, our Istanbul Police Department, and all those who contributed.

We thank the Azerbaijani Police."
