Ministry of Interior files lawsuit against Reina attackers: 'The Treasury has suffered a loss, we are demanding compensation from the defendants'

In the terrorist attack, where 39 people lost their lives and many others were injured, the perpetrator Abdulkadir Masharipov, "Violation of the Constitution" and "intentional killing" was sentenced to 40 aggravated life sentences and 1,368 years in prison for the crimes. İlyas Mamaşaripov, who was alleged to be one of the planners of the terrorist attack and to have assisted Abdulkadir Masharipov, was "aiding in the violation of the Constitution", ‘aiding and abetting premeditated murder’ and ‘aiding and abetting attempted premeditated murder’ crimes, and was sentenced to 1,452 years in prison.

MINISTRY FILES LAWSUIT

According to the report by Özge Eğrikar from Hürriyet, the Ministry of Interior has filed a new lawsuit against terrorist organization members Masharipov and Mamaşaripov to recover the 1 million 873 thousand 915 Turkish Lira and 57 kuruş paid to the family of Koray Karakoç, who lost his life in the Reina terrorist attack, along with interest. In the petition submitted to the Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance, “The Treasury has suffered a loss. We are demanding compensation from the defendants” it was stated.
