Ministry of Interior issues heavy snowfall warning

The Ministry of Interior, based on the latest assessments from the General Directorate of Meteorology, stated that on December 28, according toon Sunday, December 28, 2025,heavy and, in some places, intensesnowfall is expected in many provinces,theministry announced.

TheThe statement also noted that in the higher elevations of Erzincan, Elazığ, Tunceli, Erzurum, Ardahan, and eventually Iğdır,as well as in Ağrı, Kars, and Van, heavy snowfall between 5 and 20 centimeters is expected. In the northern and eastern parts of Bingöl, Bitlis, Muş, Hakkari, and Şırnak, it is anticipated that there will be intense snowfall exceeding20 centimeters in someareas.it was stated.

In the northeast of Diyarbakır (Kulp, Lice, Hazro, and the Diyarbakır–Şanlıurfa road Karacadağ area), in the north of Batman (Kozluk, Sason), and in the north and east of Siirt, in the higher elevations, heavy snowfall is expected to be effective.

MinThe Ministry of Interior urged citizens to be cautious and prepared against adverse conditions such as transportation disruptions, icing, and frost, as well asblizzards in higher elevations,and to closely follow warnings issued by authorized agencies.
