Ministry of Interior: Organized crime leader Serkan Kurtuluş brought to Turkey

The Ministry of Interior announced that organized crime leader Serkan Kurtuluş has been brought to Turkey.

In a statement from the ministry, it was stated, "Our state's determined struggle knows no borders."

Organized crime leader Serkan Kurtuluş, who was wanted via a red notice, was brought to Istanbul Airport via a connecting flight from Brazil following his capture in Argentina.

The statement included the following remarks: "Under the coordination of our General Directorate of Security's Interpol-Europol Department, our Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Intelligence Departments, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice; this extradition process, carried out from 13 thousand kilometers away to Turkey, is a clear indicator of our determination in the fight against crime. No entity that threatens our peace will be able to escape justice."

In the statement made by the ministry, thanks were extended to the police officers and all personnel of the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs who contributed to the process.
