"Following the investigation conducted into Beşiktaş District Mayor Rıza Akpolat of Istanbul regarding the charges of 'bribery and membership in a criminal organization' under the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office file number 2024/236201, and his subsequent arrest by the decision of the Istanbul 6th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated January 17, 2025, with inquiry number 2025/34, Rıza Akpolat has been suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393."
