In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, it was stated: "Following the initiation of an investigation into Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under file number 2025/6249 for the crimes of 'Establishing and Managing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes, Bribery, and Laundering Assets Derived from Crime,' and the application of a detention measure, he has been suspended from duty as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393."
