Ministry of Justice: Claims by Victory Party Chairman Özdağ are completely baseless

In a statement released on its X social media account, the Ministry of Justice said, "The claim shared on the X social media platform by Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, and subsequently cited by some social media accounts, that a book titled 'Syrian Family Law' was sent to Family Courts by the Ministry of Justice is completely baseless.

No such book has been sent to any institution or organization by our Ministry.

Furthermore, the statements made by Ümit Özdağ—which he shared on the X platform and later deleted—claiming that 'judges will make evaluations according to Syrian law in cases concerning family law involving Syrians' and that 'the state covers litigation costs when Syrians file lawsuits' are also untrue.

An investigation has been initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the baseless posts intended to mislead our public.

One should not give credence to manipulative claims containing disinformation or to individuals who publicly disseminate false information in a manner capable of disturbing public peace," the statement concluded.
