Ministry of National Defense announces: Eurofighter until KAAN is delivered!

During the weekly briefing held by the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), a statement was made regarding the procurement of Eurofighter fighter jets for the Turkish Air Force.

At the meeting conducted by Ministry Spokesperson Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, it was stated that efforts are continuing to procure Eurofighter jets to be used in the operational duties of the Turkish Armed Forces during the period leading up to the delivery of the domestic and national fighter jet, KAAN.

“TALKS WITH ALLIES ARE ONGOING”

In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was said, “Until the deliveries of our domestic and national fighter jet KAAN begin, it is planned to procure the systems required to fulfill the duties assigned to the TSK (Turkish Armed Forces) from relevant countries, primarily allied nations. In this context, efforts to procure the Eurofighter jet are continuing.”

It was emphasized that the process regarding the talks held with the United Kingdom is progressing positively. The statement noted, “The goal is to complete the procurement activities within an appropriate timeframe. Official notifications will be made when the contract stage is reached within the scope of the Eurofighter jet procurement. Claims outside of this should not be given credence.”

GAZA TASK FORCE PREPARATIONS

Information was also provided at the meeting regarding the international task force planned to be established for Gaza. Responding to questions about whether Turkish soldiers would take part, MSB sources reported that the Turkish Armed Forces are ready for duty within the framework of international law.

The statement said, “Considering the humanitarian tragedy that has been ongoing in Gaza for two years, the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure have become a priority. In this context, a Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) has been established for the formation of the Gaza task force.”

“TSK IS READY FOR DUTY”

It was conveyed that tasks such as security patrols, protection of civilian infrastructure, humanitarian aid activities, border security, training of local security forces, and monitoring of a ceasefire are planned within the scope of the Gaza task force.

The MSB statement included the following: “The Turkish Armed Forces, with the experience gained in previous peace missions, is ready to undertake any task that may be entrusted to it in the establishment and maintenance of peace. As one of the four guarantor countries of a ceasefire agreement, Turkey continues its diplomatic and military consultations with other countries.”
