Infantry First Lieutenant Ömer Fatih Ayar, who was severely wounded in a clash with members of the separatist terrorist organization in the Gara region of northern Iraq on September 9, 2024, has died.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), the following was stated:
"In the Gara region of northern Iraq, on September 9, 2024, our heroic comrade-in-arms, Infantry First Lieutenant Ömer Fatih AYAR, was severely wounded in a clash with members of the separatist terrorist organization. He was immediately transported to the hospital, but despite all interventions, he could not be saved and has died.
We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
