Ministry of National Defense announces: Suspicious objects detected in the Black Sea destroyed by SAS teams
The Ministry of National Defense announced that reconnaissance and surveillance operations against the threat of mines in the Black Sea are ongoing and that suspicious objects have been destroyed by SAS teams.
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has issued a statement regarding the reconnaissance and surveillance activities being conducted against the threat of drifting mines in the Black Sea. The Ministry reported that these operations are being carried out uninterruptedly on a 24/7 basis.
The statement noted that regular control activities are being conducted in the region by ships and naval air assets affiliated with the Naval Forces Command.
The MSB announced that some suspicious objects detected on the water in the regions of Karadeniz Ereğli, Sakarya Karasu, İstanbul Karaburun, Türkeli Anchorage, and Çatalca were evaluated as potentially being UAVs or Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vehicles (KİDA).
The Ministry stated that the objects in question were destroyed on-site and in a controlled manner by Underwater Defense (SAS) teams.
