Ministry of National Defense issues statement 5 days after footage of soldiers being searched on August 30!
The Ministry of National Defense has clarified allegations regarding footage of soldiers being searched during the August 30 Victory Day ceremony five days later.
Some media and social media posts had included claims that generals were searched using AI-generated footage during the ceremony held at Anıtkabir on August 30 Victory Day, and that soldiers were not allowed to attend the ceremony with their families.
In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was recalled that the footage in question was broadcast on a television channel in 2019, that the Ministry and the relevant generals/admirals immediately filed a criminal complaint, and that the legal process is still ongoing.
MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE DENIES
The Ministry of National Defense stated that such content constitutes perception operations aimed at discrediting the Turkish Armed Forces and targeting the security of the state.
The statement included the following expressions:
“Bringing up issues that are not true or that were the subject of lawsuits years ago targets not only our army but also the security of our state and the unity of our nation.”
