Ministry of National Defense shares: A special anthem from Ferhat Göçer for the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation

The Ministry of National Defense has shared a video featuring the “50th Anniversary Dawn Anthem,” with lyrics and music by Ferhat Göçer.

Göçer will perform this special anthem for the first time today in Cyprus at the “Dawn Vigil Concert,” accompanied by an 80-person grand symphony orchestra. The “Dawn Vigil,” which will begin at 20:30 with the traditional torchlight procession from the Landing Circle, will conclude at the Landing Beach with Ferhat Göçer’s concert.

'MAY PEACE NEVER BE ABSENT FROM OUR LIVES'

Sharing his feelings, Ferhat Göçer said the following:

“I wish God's mercy upon all our martyrs and veterans. On the anniversary of this historic day, I am very excited to perform this anthem in Cyprus, on the very land where everything took place. While composing this anthem, I went through an intense research process and experienced very emotional moments. I composed this anthem to tell the story of the struggle of the Mujahideen and the Mehmetçik. Exactly half a century has passed since the Cyprus Peace Operation. Even though many years have passed, we must not forget this struggle and must pass it on to future generations. I hope that these sufferings will never be experienced again. May peace never be absent from our lives.”
