Ministry of National Education sends official letter to break strike at Italian High School: Strikebreaking teachers assigned

The Private Sector Teachers' Union shared on its social media account the official letter prepared by the Ministry of National Education to break the strike of Italian High School teachers.

According to the letter in question, 26 permanent teachers working in public schools are being assigned the role of strikebreakers and are being deployed to the Italian High School. 

Eğitim Sen members among the assigned teachers are submitting petitions requesting the cancellation of their assignments.

The statement made on the Private Sector Teachers' Union's social media account includes the following remarks:

The Ministry of National Education's official letter is a document prepared to crush the teachers' movement. The Ministry, which keeps teachers under its wing as personnel under the Civil Servants Law No. 657, suddenly forgets its preference for binding teachers to labor law and classifying them as workers when it comes to the right to strike. It thinks it can evaporate the legal rights of teachers in an instant.

Those who want to learn just two of the people in Turkey who are hostile to teachers' labor can look at the names of those who signed the official letter. 

While stating that the Ministry of National Education is committing a crime, we call on Tez Koop-İş, which is leading the strike, for a joint struggle at this stage. The right of the struggle and the response to hostility must be given. There is a great lesson that teachers must teach!
