Ministry of National Education to monitor textbooks in private schools: Investigations to be launched

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has sent a circular to governorates regarding the mandatory use of textbooks distributed in private schools. The Ministry announced that investigations will be launched into private schools that do not use these textbooks.

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) General Directorate of Private Education Institutions has sent an important circular to the governorates of 81 provinces regarding the textbooks used in private schools. 

The circular emphasizes that the use of textbooks prepared and distributed by the Ministry is mandatory in private schools, and it was announced that investigations will be launched into schools that do not use these books.

The circular, issued under the signature of MEB General Director of Private Education Institutions Fethullah Güner, reminded that educational activities in private schools affiliated with the Ministry are conducted in accordance with the curricula approved by the Board of Education and Discipline. 

It was stated that textbooks prepared by the Ministry are distributed to private schools as well as public schools.

TEXTBOOKS TO BE MONITORED

The circular included the following statements:

"Since there are no other approved textbooks for the relevant grade levels other than the textbooks distributed by our Ministry, only the textbooks prepared by the Ministry will be taught in all schools, including private schools. The use of these books, which were prepared in accordance with the Century of Turkey Education Model, will be monitored in private schools, and necessary investigations will be launched into schools that do not use the books."
