Ministry of Trade issues recall for 'plush goose' toy
The Ministry of Trade has decided to ban the supply of a "plush goose" toy and recall it from the market, citing that it fails to meet safety criteria and poses a choking hazard due to small parts that can detach.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Trade, it was stated: "As the Ministry of Trade, as a result of our examinations and laboratory analyses conducted within the scope of market surveillance and inspection activities, it has been determined that a toy marketed as a plush goose does not meet the mechanical safety criteria stipulated in the TS EN 71-1 standard and poses a choking hazard by breaking into small parts.
Due to this non-compliance, which could pose a serious danger especially for babies and young children, a decision has been made to ban the supply of the product in question and to recall it from the market, and the product has been presented to the public via the Unsafe Product Information System (GÜBİS).
As the Ministry of Trade, we do not tolerate any product that threatens the health and safety of our children, and we continue our market surveillance and inspection activities with determination in line with scientific analyses and laboratory examinations to ensure our citizens' access to safe products."
