Ministry of Trade takes action: Inspection process launched in Giresun and Ordu

A comprehensive inspection process has been launched by the Ministry of Trade in Ordu and Giresun to examine transactions and market conditions in the hazelnut market. In this context, Ministry inspectors have been assigned to examine transactions at the Ordu, Giresun, Ünye, and Fatsa Commodity Exchanges.

The Ministry continues its market inspections to protect the rights of producers in the hazelnut market, cover production costs, support the sustainability of production, and ensure that consumers have access to the product at affordable prices.

Inspection and examination process continues

While the inspection and examination process regarding transactions at the Ordu, Giresun, Ünye, and Fatsa Commodity Exchanges has been initiated by Ministry of Trade inspectors, it was reported that the work is ongoing. If, as a result of the examinations, activities that disrupt market balance and free competition or prevent consumers from accessing products are identified, necessary administrative sanctions will be applied in accordance with relevant legislation.

The Ministry of Trade stated that it will continue its inspection activities with determination in order to protect the rights of producers and consumers, ensure the effective and healthy functioning of markets, and maintain a free competition environment.
