Ministry responds to reports that 'stale bread is being sold for 6 liras': 'It was produced a day earlier'
In a written statement, the Ministry of Trade stated, "Regarding the reports that 'stale bread is being sold for 6 liras in Ankara,' it has been determined that the bread mentioned as being sold for 6 liras is not stale, but rather bread produced a day earlier, and that there was no two-day-old bread at the establishment."
The statement added, "It was understood that such bread is generally purchased at a low cost by livestock farmers and dairy operators, while bread offered for normal sale is sold at 15 TL in accordance with the determined official tariff."

In the written statement issued by the Ministry of Trade, it was said, "Following posts in some media outlets and on social media platforms claiming that 'stale bread is being sold for 6 liras in Ankara,' the matter was promptly investigated by our Ministry of Trade.
At the establishment subject to the report; it was determined that the bread mentioned as being sold for 6 liras was not stale, but rather bread produced a day earlier, and that there was no two-day-old bread at the establishment. It was understood that this bread is generally purchased at a low cost by livestock farmers and dairy operators, while bread offered for normal sale is sold at 15 TL in accordance with the determined official tariff.
It is important for our citizens to take official statements into account regarding posts that may lead to misunderstandings in the public.
