Ministry statement on Selin Ciğerci: Did she adopt a child?
The Ministry of Family and Social Services stated that the claim that "Selin Ciğerci adopted a child in Turkey" does not reflect the truth, and further noted that an investigation previously launched regarding this claim is ongoing.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, it was recalled that claims had appeared on social media platforms suggesting that "Ciğerci adopted a child through the Ministry of Family and Social Services," and it was stated, "Ciğerci has no official application to the Ministry regarding adoption. The claim is completely untrue."
The statement also emphasized that an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, on charges of "changing a child's lineage, human trafficking of individuals under the age of 18, and other related offenses," is still ongoing.
