Ministry updates list of brands engaged in imitation and adulteration

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to periodically update its list of foods that are imitated, adulterated, or pose a risk to health. The Ministry has made new additions to the disclosure list. Food coloring was detected in chili flakes, poultry meat in raw Adana kebab and ground meat, gizzard in ground meat pastry filling, and heart in pita filling.

Ministry updates list of brands engaged in imitation and adulteration

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to disclose, one by one, the companies that endanger public health through food fraud. The Ministry has updated the list of foods that are imitated, adulterated, or may pose a risk to health. Recent findings include substances that threaten health and are subject to imitation and adulteration in products such as olive oil, sumac, kebab, butter, thyme, and chili flakes.

Food coloring was detected in sumac, foreign matter in thyme, offal (heart) in pita filling, poultry meat in ground beef, offal (gizzard) in ground meat pastry filling, poultry meat in raw Adana kebab, and food coloring in chili flakes. With the latest update, many products have been added to the list, and their manufacturers have been disclosed.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry tests samples taken after inspections in its laboratories and identifies the substances within the products.
