Missing Gendarmerie weapons from Silvan to Kırıkkale: 5 still not found
Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant E.A. was stealing weapons from a military depot in Silvan and bringing them to Kırıkkale to sell. The incident that led to the sergeant's capture was a missing weapon being fired into the air at a wedding.

New reports regarding the decay in Turkey emerge every day. This time, the incident took place in Kırıkkale. A wedding was being held in Kırıkkale on the evening of August 22. At the wedding, 22-year-old S.M.T. fired a weapon into the air. Gendarmerie teams arriving at the scene apprehended the young man, S.M.T., along with the weapon. The peculiarity of the incident emerged during the weapon's background check. As a result of the inquiry into the pistol, it was determined to be one of the 8 pistols reported stolen from the Silvan Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command depot on 23.01.2024.
Following this, Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) units began investigating the seven other stolen pistols. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the pistol had changed hands among 5 different individuals before reaching S.M.T., the person who was caught with it at the wedding. Everyone, up to the person who first purchased the pistol, was taken into custody. Eventually, it was revealed who had stolen the pistols from the depot in Silvan. It was understood that the first owner of the pistol was S.A., the brother of Specialist Sergeant E.A., who was serving at the Silvan Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command.
As a result of the interrogation, the individual named S.A. stated that the pistols in the depot were stolen by his brother, Specialist Sergeant E.A., during a period when he was on leave, and that he brought them to Kırıkkale to sell. S.A., who was taken into custody, also stated that he sold the pistols brought to him by his brother for 130 thousand liras each. These pistols were later handed over to the gendarmerie by the people who had purchased them. However, 5 of the stolen pistols are still missing.
While Specialist Sergeant E.A. was arrested by the court he was brought before in Diyarbakır, his brother S.A. was released under judicial control measures.
