It was reported that Muhammed Dib Koralı, one of the perpetrators of the Reyhanlı massacre in which 53 people lost their lives, was captured in Syria during an operation conducted by MIT and the Hatay Provincial Police Department.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
On May 11, 2013, two separate bomb attacks were carried out in the Reyhanlı district of Hatay, resulting in the deaths of 53 people and leaving 146 others injured. The attacks, carried out with vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, were recorded as the second deadliest attack in the history of the republic following the 2015 Ankara train station massacre. According to reports in the press at the time, all 73 MOBESE surveillance cameras across the district had malfunctioned a few days before the attack and failed to record.
