MIT conducts precision operation in Syria: Terrorist Mahmut Ağca neutralized

The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) determined that the terrorist Mahmut Ağca, whom it had been tracking for a long time, had planned and directed numerous terrorist acts carried out in Turkey since 2015. Ağca, the figure behind treacherous attacks against security forces, was placed among the priority targets by the MIT.

As a result of intelligence efforts, it was determined that Mahmut Ağca was located in the Ayn al-Arab region of Syria. It was identified that Ağca, who was continuing his organizational activities, was holding a meeting with terrorist groups in a house there. Acting on this critical information, the MIT neutralized Mahmut Ağca in a meticulously executed precision operation.

Ağca, who joined the terrorist organization in 2006, operated within the Civil Defense Units (YPS) until 2015. However, starting in 2015, he joined the organization's military intelligence structure and took over the direction and management of terrorist acts from Syria against Turkey. During this period, Ağca, who organized the transfer of explosives and terrorists from across the border, felt safe due to his remote direction of the attacks. However, Ağca, who played a role in the martyrdom of dozens of Turkish soldiers and police officers, could not escape the attention of the MIT and was eliminated in a successful operation.
