MIT's meeting with Hamas in Ankara
National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Director İbrahim Kalın met with Hamas Political Bureau leaders in Ankara to discuss the latest status of ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Palestine.
In the meeting held by MIT Director Kalın with Hamas Political Bureau leaders in the capital, topics such as the current state of ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Palestine and the prisoner exchange were discussed.
During the meeting, where concrete steps that could be taken to ensure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, where a humanitarian tragedy is unfolding, and to deliver more humanitarian aid to the region were also addressed, the constructive and positive attitude of Hamas in the negotiation process was highlighted. It was noted that Israel's introduction of new conditions to the proposed text, which was agreed upon and supported by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, is complicating the ceasefire process.
Furthermore, concern was expressed during the meeting regarding Israel's continued attacks that are leading to massacres.
The National Intelligence Organization has continued to maintain its contacts with all parties and relevant actors to ensure a ceasefire since the beginning of the process.
In this process, MIT has taken on an important role, conducting intense diplomatic traffic with all actors, primarily Hamas senior leadership, Israel, Egypt, Qatar, and the US.
