Pinpoint operation by MIT in Iraq: PKK/KCK so-called leader Nusrettin Demir neutralized
It has been reported that Nusrettin Demir, one of the so-called leaders of the PKK/KCK, was neutralized in an operation conducted by the MIT in Iraq.
The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has neutralized Nusrettin Demir, codenamed Kurtay Batman, one of the so-called leaders of the PKK/KCK in the Gare region of Iraq, through a pinpoint operation.
According to information obtained from security sources, the MIT reached intelligence that the terrorist codenamed "Kurtay Batman," Nusrettin Demir, was involved in the planning of attacks against security forces in the Claw-Lock operation zone in northern Iraq between 2021 and 2022.
Tracking the terrorist Demir, the MIT determined that he had been operating at a leadership level in the Gara region of Iraq since 2023.
Upon receiving intelligence that he was seeking to carry out attacks in the Claw-Lock operation zone with other organization members, the MIT neutralized Demir and the terrorists accompanying him in the Gara region through a pinpoint operation.
It was stated that the terrorist, who joined the organization's rural cadre in 2014, had been involved in organizational activities in Syria between 2016 and 2021.
