Intensive efforts by teams to capture the bear that escaped from the shelter in Bursa's Karacabey district are ongoing.
The brown bear, which is believed to have escaped through an opening created by a fallen tree at the Ovakorusu Celal Acar Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, is being searched for by a 30-person team from the gendarmerie, the Nature Conservation and Environmental Protection unit, and the Directorate of National Parks. Residents of the nearby Boğazköy neighborhood are also supporting the search, during which some old tracks believed to belong to the bear were discovered.

BAIT LEFT UNTOUCHED
Bait was left in the area to capture the escaped bear, but it was determined that the bait has not yet been touched. While drone technology is also being utilized in the operations, warnings continue to be issued to citizens via local mosque loudspeakers to remain cautious.

Gendarmerie teams are continuing road checks in the area in case the bear returns to the shelter.
