Molotov cocktail attack on AKP provincial headquarters! Statement from Yılmaz Tunç

In Iğdır, yesterday (December 14) around 19:00, 3 suspects arrived in front of the AKP Iğdır Provincial Headquarters in the Bağlar neighborhood, examined the surroundings for a while, and then threw the Molotov cocktails they were carrying at the building before fleeing.

The fire that broke out at the entrance of the building was extinguished by those in the vicinity.

A large number of police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The police, who took extensive security measures in the area, apprehended and detained two of the 3 suspects who had fled inside a vehicle that was stopped.

The 1 suspect who fled the scene is still being sought.

On the other hand, the moment the suspects threw the Molotov cocktails at the building and fled was recorded by security cameras.

STATEMENT FROM AKP

AKP Iğdır Provincial Chairman Ali Kemal Ayaz said in a statement, "The organization, which is losing power every day, is trying to scare and intimidate people with such attacks. They should know that we are always standing tall. We will continue to serve our country in line with the instructions of our President. We will walk this path without ever giving up, getting tired, or being afraid."

Stating that they had been subjected to a similar attack before, Ayaz said, "This is the second time; there was a machete attack 1 month ago, and today it is like this. Our security forces are doing what is necessary. We condemn and denounce it. We will continue on our way without stopping."

Provincial Police Chief Niyazi Turgay also arrived at the scene to receive information.

STATEMENT FROM YILMAZ TUNÇ: 2 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made a statement regarding the attack.

Minister Tunç stated, "A judicial investigation has been initiated by the Iğdır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the attack, and 2 suspects have been taken into custody. Such dirty attacks and provocations against our democracy and national will will never be able to disrupt our national unity, solidarity, and brotherhood."
