Moment of attack on Mustafa Bozbey caught on camera

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey met with citizens in the Değirmenönü neighborhood of Yıldırım district yesterday (January 6) as part of the "Mayor is Here Project." During the program, an attempted attack occurred against Bozbey while he was continuing his speech at the podium.

THEY TRIED TO ATTACK BY OVERTURNING THE PODIUM

Former municipal council member Recep B. and his brother Şaban B. lunged toward the podium during the speech, attempting to attack Mayor Bozbey. As the two individuals overturned the podium, the incident was brought under control by security forces before it could escalate further.

BODYGUARDS INTERVENED, PANIC ENSUED

The attackers were neutralized by security police and municipal police teams at the scene. During the scuffle, a brief panic occurred in the area, and the program was cut short. The individuals were subsequently taken to the police station.

BOZBEY GAVE A STATEMENT, SUSPECTS TO BE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE

Following the attempted attack, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey underwent a health check, received a medical report, and gave his statement. Recep B. and Şaban B., who were taken into custody, are expected to be referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station.
