The passenger bus with license plate 23 AFA 634, traveling from Diyarbakır to Istanbul, crashed into barriers after the driver lost steering control at the Işıklar Junction toll booths on the Northern Marmara Motorway in Eyüpsultan.

In the incident, where the bus turned into a fireball following the collision, 2 people lost their lives, and 8 people were injured, 1 of them seriously.

Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command motorway teams intervened in a short time and evacuated the passengers from the burning bus.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of the Gendarmerie teams, a major disaster was averted.
