The 38th CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress was annulled by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, and the provincial administration, along with Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, was removed from office as a precautionary measure.

The court had appointed Gürsel Tekin and his delegation as trustees to the provincial administration. It was revealed that Tekin had paid his membership dues one day before the decision was issued.

Tekin, who announced that he accepted the trusteeship duty, was expelled from the CHP.

The CHP High Disciplinary Board had also requested a defense from Tekin.
