In the statement made on the Governor's Office's social media account, it was noted that according to the General Directorate of Meteorology, Turkey is expected to come under the influence of a new cold and rainy weather system starting from the northwestern (Thrace) regions on Monday, April 7.

The statement noted that air temperatures, which are currently hovering around seasonal norms, are expected to decrease throughout the week starting from the Thrace region (Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ) on Monday, falling 5 to 7 degrees below seasonal norms across the region, and 7 to 9 degrees below in inland and high-altitude areas.

The statement, which conveyed that precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in Istanbul on Monday, April 7, continued as follows:

"On Tuesday, April 8, rain and sleet are expected in the eastern part of the region, specifically in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Yalova. It is necessary to follow the forecasts, meteorological assessments, and early warnings of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's General Directorate of Meteorology against potential snowfall, icing, frost, and agricultural frost events."
