Money laundering investigation into Ahmet Ahlatcı! Travel ban imposed

It has been learned that a travel ban has been imposed on Ahmet Ahlatcı, one of Turkey's leading businesspeople and Chairman of the Board of Ahlatcı Holding, as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was stated that the measure was taken as part of a comprehensive investigation into gold trading conducted earlier this week.
Ahlatcı stated, "I have been in the jewelry business for 43 years. Our name has been involved in a smuggling investigation involving 23 people, and I just learned about this. We explained that there was a misunderstanding and have applied for the travel ban to be lifted; I believe it will be lifted."
While it was noted that Ahlatcı's name appeared in a file launched over suspected smuggling involving a total of 23 people, it was stated that he had only recently learned of the developments regarding this process. The outcome of the application to lift the ban has not yet been clarified.
