Monkeypox virus scare in Sakarya: Senegalese individual quarantined
A development regarding the Monkeypox virus, for which the World Health Organization has declared a global emergency, has occurred in Sakarya. According to reports, a 34-year-old Senegalese individual arrived at the Sakarya Training and Research Hospital emergency department with a skin condition.
While there is global panic over the Monkeypox virus, it has been learned that an individual of African origin has been placed in quarantine in Sakarya on suspicion of having the Monkeypox virus.
According to a report by the Sakarya-based news outlet Medyabar, a 34-year-old Senegalese individual arrived at the Sakarya Training and Research Hospital emergency department around 10:00 AM with a skin condition.
PLACED IN QUARANTINE
The emergency physician examining the patient observed spots on the individual's body and had the patient moved to a private room and placed in quarantine.
According to reports in the local press, initial assessments determined that the foreign national's condition was related to skin diseases.
The patient has not yet been diagnosed with Monkeypox, and investigations are ongoing.
No one is being allowed near the quarantined patient.
