Mossad spy tells all: Live tracking in the air

The National Intelligence Organization, which exposed numerous collaborators engaged in espionage activities in Turkey for the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service MOSSAD, has also dismantled MOSSAD's cell in Europe.

Eight members of the 9-person spy ring were apprehended in Istanbul last April in an operation coordinated by the Istanbul MİT Regional Directorate's Counter-Intelligence Department.

6 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Six of the suspects, led by insurance company owner Ahmet Ersin Tumlucalı, were arrested on charges of "obtaining information that must remain secret for the state for the purpose of political or military espionage," while two suspects were released under judicial control.

HOW DID TUMLUCALI MEET MOSSAD?

According to a report by Mustafa Sait Özkan from Sabah; Ahmet Ersin Tumlucalı, the leader of the spy network who conducted espionage activities in Germany, Turkey, and Georgia for 9 years, explained in his testimony how he met MOSSAD handlers and the actions he carried out.

ESTABLISHED CONTACT THROUGH A COMPANY HE FOUNDED IN 2006

Tumlucalı stated that he rented an office and founded an insurance company in 2006, and had sent emails to approximately one thousand different firms. Explaining that one of these firms responded, Tumlucalı said, "This firm offered me a job to conduct research. It was a company called Axom Germany GMBH, operating abroad. This company gave us a job to find a lost truck. After we solved this job in a short time, they offered me to join them as a franchise, stating that they wanted to do business in Turkey."

FOUNDED A COMPANY WITH THE SAME NAME IN TURKEY

Accepting the job offer from Axom Germany GMBH, Tumlucalı stated that he founded a company named Aksom Araştırma ve Danışma (Aksom Research and Consulting).

Stating that he received an email in 2011 from a person named "Jörg" to his company email, Tumlucalı said, "This person offered a job that anyone in Turkey could easily solve. My wife said we should issue an invoice for this work, but she said she could not see a company registration for this person in her research. I accepted, thinking it would not be a problem. They sent our payment via wire transfer. But the company that sent it was a different company."

EXPENSES COVERED BY JÖRG

Stating that the MOSSAD handler who introduced himself as Jörg called him on the phone shortly after, Tumlucalı said he met and got to know him at a Chinese restaurant in Vienna, Austria, with the other party covering the expenses.

Tumlucalı said this person presented himself as someone working in a law firm, and later contacted him with a job offer regarding tracking a person in Germany.

THE 'ADULTERY CASE' COVER

Stating that he offered 11 thousand euros to his Swiss friend named Andry Grudko to track the target in Germany, and that this money was covered by Jörg, Tumlucalı said, "When I asked what this tracking was about, he replied, 'There is an adultery case that the law firm is handling.' I transferred the photos of the target person in Germany to Jörg. He paid me 13-14 thousand euros. I sent 11 thousand euros of it to my friend Andry who did the tracking."

TOOK PHOTOS OF THE TARGET ON THE PLANE

According to the testimony, one of the targets in MOSSAD's crosshairs was a Lebanese person who would come to Istanbul from Lebanon. Tumlucalı was given the task of flying to Lebanon, boarding the plane the target would take to Istanbul, and photographing his movements in Istanbul.

Tumlucalı first went to Lebanon for the assigned task and then boarded the plane returning to Turkey to follow the target. He took a photo of the target inside the plane and sent it to Jörg in real-time, receiving confirmation that it was the correct person. As soon as he got off the plane in Istanbul, he started tracking the person with his friend named Fuzuli Şimşek. He found the site the target entered but could not learn the exact address. Upon this, he was told by the MOSSAD handler to terminate the tracking.

THEY HAD A MARRIED COUPLE TRACKED IN GEORGIA

Tumlucalı's next location was Georgia. The target in Georgia was a married couple. He formed a 3-person team to photograph the target couple. After following this couple for 2-3 days, he sent the photos to the MOSSAD handler named Jörg in real-time via Skype. In return, he received 15 thousand euros.

'THEY GAVE ME THIS WATCH WHEN I WAS A LEGIONNAIRE'

In 2015, Jörg and Tumlucalı met in Munich, Germany. A woman Jörg brought with him accompanied the pair who met there.

According to Jörg's account, this person was also an employee in the accounting office in France of the law firm they worked for. The watch on Tumlucalı's wrist caught the MOSSAD handler's attention.

Tumlucalı was asked the question, "Is there a camera in it?" Tumlucalı took off the watch and handed it to Jörg to check. Jörg, who carefully checked Tumlucalı's watch and returned it, showed the watch on his own wrist and said, 'Look, this is a very valuable watch. They gifted this to me when I was a legionnaire.'

The meeting was terminated. According to Tumlucalı, the meeting was terminated because they became suspicious of the watch on his wrist.
