Mother of youth arrested over Israel protest rebels: 'I thought we were on Palestine's side'

Nine people who protested trade with Israel by shouting "Ships are carrying bombs to Gaza" while Erdoğan was speaking at the TRT World Forum event were arrested.

It was learned that the arrest decision was made for violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations, and that a judicial control decision was issued on charges of "insulting the President."

Following the decision, the Thousand Youth for Palestine Platform, the Resistance Tent Platform, Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Kaya, lawyer Fatih Erbican, and Handan Turan, the mother of the arrested Şeyma Yıldırım, made a statement in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan to react to the decision.

"MY SENSE OF JUSTICE FOR MY COUNTRY HAS COMPLETELY VANISHED"

Handan Turan, the mother of the arrested Şeyma Yıldırım, stated that she no longer has faith in justice and noted the following:

"I came here to pick up my daughter. But unfortunately, I heard that there was an arrest warrant and I was very saddened. My sense of justice for my country has truly completely vanished.

I mean, these children did nothing. They only defended humanity, they defended justice.

The fact that people have reached this point did not fit into their conscience. I mean, is this justice? I thought we were on the side of Palestine?

I thought we were Palestine. What happened? Why do the slightest steps taken for Palestine immediately result in imprisonment?

Is this what it means to be on the side of Palestine? I mean, I never believe in this justice."
