Move by Özgür Özel for Gökhan Günaydın after injunction lifted: Letter sent to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

LETTER TO THE TBMM REGARDING GÖKHAN GÜNAYDIN

The injunction against CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın, who had been referred to disciplinary proceedings with a request for permanent expulsion by the CHP administration, was lifted by the High Disciplinary Board (YDK).

Following this, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel sent a letter to the Speaker of the TBMM, noting that after the preliminary injunction decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber dated May 21, the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) had referred Gökhan Günaydın, Ali Mahir Başarır, and 7 other deputies to the High Disciplinary Board with precautionary measures on June 10, without the approval of the Party Assembly (PM) and in violation of the party charter.

Özgür Özel stated that following this decision, which was taken in violation of the Law on Political Parties, the CHP Charter, and the Group Internal Regulations, the TBMM had unilaterally removed the titles of "Republican People's Party Group Deputy Chairman" from the TBMM website and from their office doors for group deputy chairmen Gökhan Günaydın and Ali Mahir Başarır on June 12, and reminded that the allocation of official vehicles to the office of the group deputy chairmanship was subsequently canceled.

Emphasizing that the CHP High Disciplinary Board announced to the public at its meeting today that the decision of "precautionary suspension" against Gökhan Günaydın had been lifted unanimously, Özgür Özel used the following expression: "In this context, I submit for your information the necessity of reversing the actions taken unilaterally by your Office on June 12, 2026, regarding our Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın, and immediately reinstating Mr. Günaydın's rights associated with his office."
