It had been claimed that Yeniden Refah Party Istanbul MP Doğan Bekin would resign from his party to join the AKP. Following the allegations, it was stated that Bekin would make a statement at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) regarding the disagreements he had with Suat Kılıç within the party and recent developments.

Bekin confirmed his resignation from the party in a statement to journalist Nevzat Çiçek. Speaking about the reason for his resignation, Bekin said that the disagreements he had with Suat Kılıç were influential in his decision.
Following his conversation with Bekin, Nevzat Çiçek reported that the MP would hold a press conference on Tuesday or Wednesday to evaluate his political roadmap and his resignation from his administrative duties.

I am currently in Siberia
The reason for my resignation from my administrative duties is the disagreement we had with Suat Kılıç

Stating that he had disagreements with Suat Kılıç, particularly during the second opening process called "Terror-Free Turkey," Bekin said the following:
"The disagreements and tension I experienced with Suat Kılıç in the party were influential. Especially during the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, our chairman left the initiative to vote to me, but Suat Kılıç insisted that I vote 'no.' As if that were not enough, he also had our youth branch president post a tweet that drew backlash."
Bekin stated that while resigning from his administrative duties, he also wanted to resign from his parliamentary seat, but did not do so at the request of people he has been involved in politics with for a long time.
"When I was resigning from my administrative duties, I also wanted to resign from my parliamentary seat, but I did not resign from the parliament at the request of people with whom we have been involved in politics for a long time."
"I AM NOT IN TALKS WITH ANY PARTY"
While claims that Bekin would join the AKP after his resignation remain on the agenda, Bekin stated that he is not currently in talks with any party.
According to Çiçek, Bekin is still in Siberia and continues his work as Vice President of the European Muslim Forum. Bekin is expected to answer questions about his political roadmap at the press conference he will hold on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Bekin stated that he has received messages from different parties and friends, but has not yet made a decision regarding his future political process.
"I have received messages from many parties and friends, but I have not made a decision on how and where I will pursue politics. I will answer the questions on everyone's mind at the press conference I will hold on Tuesday or Wednesday."
Thus, while confirming his resignation, Bekin announced that he is not currently in talks with any party regarding the claims that he would join the AKP.
