Mufti Musa Bilgiç's response to the viewer's question, "Is Bitcoin permissible?" was as follows:

The issue of Bitcoin is among the board decisions of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). The High Board of Religious Affairs reaches a conclusion by blending the views of past scholars with contemporary experts in the economic world.

"ULTIMATELY, OUR PEOPLE DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES"

These types of investment vehicles are newly emerging tools. As a final conclusion, our board does not find it secure. It does not see it as a real way of earning through trade. Because in the Islamic tradition, real money is gold, silver, and currencies accepted by states. Now, this unit has been accepted in some countries and not in others.

It is a structure whose control is unclear. Sometimes it yields high returns, and sometimes it causes significant losses. There have even been cases in our country where people were driven to suicide after investing in Bitcoin.

To avoid such situations, we do not recommend insecure investment vehicles like Bitcoin. Nevertheless, our people decide for themselves.
