Muharrem İnce: I struggled to find 'halal' money

The controversy surrounding Muharrem İnce's remarks at a program at the CHP Balıkesir Provincial Headquarters, where he stated, 'It is difficult to establish a party with halal money!', continues following allegations that the comment was a jab at the New Party.

CHP member Muharrem İnce made a statement to Hacı Yakışıklı from tv100 regarding the 'halal money' controversy.

İnce said, "I struggled to find halal money for the Homeland Party. I received many offers of haram (illicit) money. I did not mean anyone else."

Muharrem İnce's words on the subject were as follows:

New Party Chairman Özgür Özel announced that Muharrem İnce had called him on the phone and stated that he did not direct those words at him, adding, "I have never spoken ill of Muharrem İnce during any of his processes, because he is a child of the party."

Özel said the following regarding İnce:

“Muharrem İnce went through very difficult processes. There were harsh times when he competed against Kemal Bey within the party. He experienced other difficulties when he founded his party.
