While deputies led by Özgür Özel left the party to establish the New Party, the debate over the Chairmanship candidacy has reignited within the CHP.

It has been alleged that CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Oğuz Kaan Salıcı, and Muharrem İnce will be candidates for the chairmanship at the party convention.
