Müjdat Gezen joins TİP's protest for Can Atalay
Artist Müjdat Gezen joined the sit-in protest in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse for Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Hatay MP Can Atalay, who has not been released despite the Constitutional Court ruling for a second time that his 'rights were violated'.
The Workers' Party of Turkey has launched a sit-in protest in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse until the 13th High Criminal Court issues a ruling on the file of Gezi prisoner and Hatay MP Can Atalay. Renowned artist Müjdat Gezen came to support the sit-in protest initiated in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse.
Renowned Artist Gezen stated the following:
"There used to be a team called Justice in the football league. Do you know? Justice... This is the truth. Later it was relegated to the second division, then to the third division, then to the amateur league, and then it disappeared completely. That's all there is to it. The description of Turkey's justice system is exactly like this. It has been relegated time and again to reach this state today. They said the President would make a statement, and they scheduled it for the same hours at the palace. Not the palace, at the headquarters; not the headquarters, at the ministry, they said the minister would announce it. The agenda-distraction center is working wonderfully. I guess the judges inside are also working with phones. This is the system. Where there is no justice, foreign investment is just hot air. When I returned from military service many years ago, I cast my first vote for the Workers' Party of Turkey. If I live, I will cast my last vote for the Workers' Party as well."
